Therosteon
OsteoBLAST

Although bone is a hard and mineralized tissue, it is continuously being renewed. Two types of bone cells control this bone renewal process: osteoclasts which degrade small parts of the bone and osteoblasts that rebuild the bone tissue.

In contrast to the wide variety of drugs that inhibit bone degradation Therosteon focuses on the development of therapeutics that promote new bone formation to improve bone quality and to restore bone loss.

Based on the OsteoBLAST technology platform Therosteon approaches bone metabolism and bone formation in a systems biological manner. Therosteon focuses on networks that control bone metabolism and bone formation to identify novel bone anabolic drugs and diagnostic markers.

The exhibit summarizes our approach.
